01The brief

I was brought on to produce a creative for IW:LEARN's anniversary — a piece that celebrated their global projects in a dynamic way, highlighting the agency's impact and effective use of funding for delegates, funders, and partners at the 10th International Waters Conference.

02The pitch

The client's initial idea was a simple scrolling storymap. I proposed something more ambitious: a three-layer storymap journey.

The layered approach appealed immediately — they wanted the project to be a centerpiece at the event, not another page to scroll past. And what sold the idea was the motion: the animated introduction that opens the journey.

"What sold the idea wasn't the map — it was the motion that leads you into it."

03What I did

Each layer of the journey used a different discipline — one of which I learned from scratch for this project.

04Why it works

The presentation was a success — strong engagement from attendees and positive feedback from the organizers, captured in the event photos above. Instead of passively watching a highlights reel, delegates explored a decade of projects on their own terms. The experience is still live: try the globe yourself.
